2026 Shinnenkai
The Dayton Bujinkan Dojo held its annual Shinnenkai (& mini Dai Komyo Sai) Training Event & Celebration on the evening of Friday, January 30, 2026, and all day Saturday, January 31, 2026. 28 students attended from FL, IL, TN, OH, NC, and WA. Senior Bujinkan instructors Alan Sakoman (Daishihan), Andy Russell (Shihan), Dustin Mowery (Shihan), and Dan Klug (Shihan & Mentor) offered their insights and experience in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. The theme of the event was the use of the Kodachi (‘small tachi’, kodachijutsu, 小太刀術). Instructors explored and guided participants on how to naturally move, defend, and engage while armed, emphasizing the essential principles of the Kodachi using Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.
