2026 Kotohajime
On Saturday, January 3, 2026, The Dayton Bujinkan Dojo kicked off its first class of 2026 today followed by a successful Kotohajime and Dojo Cleaning event. Led by senior instructor and Bujinkan Daishihan Jess Attilli, along with dojo assistant John Comeskey, a dedicated group of volunteers spent the afternoon performing 1000 bokken cuts to welcome the new year before gearing up to thoroughly clean the entire training space. A huge thank‑you goes out to everyone who participated, including Jess, John, Mandy, Jen, Betsy, Sophia, Brian, Andy, Marc, Will, Jacob, Elise, Chris, Nick, Jordan, and Pam. The dojo looks fantastic and is fully prepared for the year ahead, aligning with the year of the fire horse (Hinoe‑uma, 丙午, focusing on a year of fierce energy and bold transformation).
