Adult Training Program
Traditional Kobudō Training for the Modern Practitioner
Authentic Instruction in Classical Japanese Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu Martial Arts
A disciplined training environment for adults committed to long‑term martial development.
Adult Training Program Overview
The Adult Training Program at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo offers in‑depth instruction in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, drawing from nine traditional Japanese lineages to teach striking, grappling, weapons use, multiple‑attacker scenarios, and principle‑driven movement. Training emphasizes repetition, timing, distancing, and adaptability, giving adults a path to develop practical skill, physical conditioning, and a deeper understanding of martial arts. The dojo’s 9,200‑square‑foot facility, equipped with more than 100 tatami mats, training weapons, hand targets, and dedicated changing areas, creates a safe and well‑supported environment for serious study. This personal approach reflects the dojo’s long‑standing commitment to individualized guidance and community, built since opening in 1997.
Adult classes are offered six days a week, providing a flexible schedule that accommodates a wide range of lifestyles and training goals. Sessions include regular evening classes throughout the week and extended Saturday training blocks, with additional workshops and seminars offered during the year to deepen technical understanding and ryu‑ha study. Students also have access to additional programs within the facility, such as yoga, Tai Chi, and boxing‑style striking classes, which support mobility, conditioning, and overall martial development. Whether someone is seeking a disciplined practice, a long‑term martial arts path, or a structured way to build strength and awareness, the Adult Training Program provides a comprehensive and tradition‑rooted training experience.
