Gyaku Waza Workshop
Study ways to manipulate and reverse the kihon waza
$40 per person
All Bujinkan ranks are welcome to attend
The Dayton Bujinkan Dojo will host a Gyaku Waza Workshop on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 11 AM to 4:30 PM. This seminar will focus on learning to manipulate and reverse the kihon waza of Budo Taijutsu, with an emphasis on understanding timing, distance, and the interplay of kyojitsu, or truth and falsehood. Through guided exploration, attendees will develop deeper insight into breaking forms, adapting techniques under pressure, and the principles that support effective muto dori. This workshop offers an opportunity to refine core skills while expanding one’s perspective on the versatility of taijutsu movement. Jeff Ochester will be teaching the seminar with assistance from dojo senior instructors.
All Bujinkan students and approved guests are welcome to attend. We recommend wearing a full do-gi training uniform and bringing a notebook.
The event is reserved for young adult and adult members of the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo, past workshop participants, and approved guests. (If you haven't attended an event at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo before, please request attendance prior to registering to avoid any issues.) Registration is free, pay at the door.
