2016 Japan Trip: 42nd Anniversary of Takamatsu Sensei’s Death
In late March and early April 2016, members from the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo visited Japan to attend the Takamatsu Memorial (referred to as the Takamatsu Sensei Celebration or the 42nd Year Takamatsu Memorial) led by Hatsumi Soke on April 2, 2016. Hatsumi Soke hosted the training event and celebration at the Bujinkan Hombu Dojo in Noda, Japan, to commemorate the 42nd anniversary of the passing of his teacher, Toshitsugu Takamatsu.
In Japanese Buddhist traditions, this milestone represents a moment of spiritual ascension for the departed master. 300 Bujinkan practitioners and instructors from all over the world gathered at the hombu to train with Hatsumi Soke for the event.
