The Dayton Bujinkan Dojo is holding its annual Shinnenkai (& mini Dai Komyo Sai) Training Event & Celebration on the evening of Friday, January 30, 2026, and all day Saturday, January 31, 2026. Senior Bujinkan instructors Alan Sakoman (Daishihan), Andy Russell (Shihan), Dustin Mowery (Shihan), and Dan Klug (Shihan & Mentor) return once again to offer their insights and experience in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. The theme of the event is the use of the Kodachi (short-sword, kodachijutsu, 小太刀術). Instructors will explore and guide participants on how to naturally move, defend, and engage while armed, emphasizing the essential principles of the Kodachi using Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.

Fees: (Registration is free; pre-pay or pay at the door)
Friday & Saturday Training: $80 per person
Friday Only Training: $25 per person
Saturday Only Training: $65 per person
We recommend wearing a full do-gi training uniform and bringing a notebook. The Dayton Bujinkan Dojo has plenty of practice kodachi training weapons for participants. (No live blades or weapons are permitted.) The event is reserved for young adult and adult members of the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo, past workshop participants, and approved guests. (If you haven't attended an event at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo before, please request attendance prior to registering to avoid any issues.) Registration is free, pay at the door.
