Budo Mentors - Dan Klug (Bujinkan Shihan)
Mr.
Dan Klug (10th Dan Bujinkan) is a licensed teacher (Shidoshi) of
Budo Taijutsu under Hatsumi Soke of the Bujinkan Honbu in Noda-shi,
Japan. He began studying martial arts in the state of Washington,
where he grew up.
Shidoshi Klug first learned of Budo Taijutsu in the late 1980’s and
trained in a few seminars offered in his area. Upon making the
decision to study Budo Taijutsu full time, he moved to Dayton, Ohio.
Shidoshi Klug trained at Kurt Rittenhouse Martial Arts (and briefly
at "The Barn") and quickly became one of the dojo’s top students.
After many years of dedicated training under Shidoshi Kurt
Rittenhouse and frequent trips to Japan, Mr. Klug passed the Godan
5th Degree Black Belt test under Hatsumi Soke in 1995.
In January 2005, Dan Klug was given his Judan from Hatsumi Soke at
the Bujinkan Hombu in Japan.
Shidoshi Dan Klug continues to expand his knowledge of Budo Taijutsu
by visiting Japan to train with Hatsumi Soke and the Shihans (Nagato
Sensei, Noguchi Sensei, and formally Muramatsu Sensei), as well as
through constant solo training. He also trains regularly with a MMA
club and has experience in the amateur boxing arena.
Many of the senior students at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo have known
Shidoshi Klug for many years and continue to accept his guidance in
Budo Taijutsu. His teaching style and training ability are always
anticipated with excitement.
Shidoshi Klug demonstrates the honorable and disciplined path that
Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu can provide. We thank Shidoshi Klug for
opening his warrior heart (bushin) to us and mentoring our Taijutsu
training.
